Based in Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland, Brian Ó hEadhra is an acclaimed musician, singer-songwriter, and producer, performing solo, as a session musician, and currently with acts including Brian Ó hEadhra & Fionnag NicChoinnich, McKerron Brechin Ó hEadhra, and Frances Wilkins.

Performing traditional and contemporary music and song, he has toured the globe with the bands including Anam and Cruinn and has recorded on over twenty albums over a thirty five-year career.

Frances Wilkins

Òrain Cèilidh Teaghlaich | The Family Cèilidh Gaelic Song Collection (2014): 23 Songs recorded with the family to accompany the Gaelic songbook of the same name.

Sonas (2008): Released under MacGregor Brechin Ó hEadhra, blending powerhouse tune sets and beautiful songs.

An Turas (2003): An Irish and Scottsih Gaelic, largely unaccompanied collaboration between Christine Primrose and Brian.

Cruinn (Stòras 2014, Cruinn 2013): A highly acclaimed Gaelic song group featuring sublime four-part harmonies with Fionnag NicChoinnich, Rachel Walker and James Graham.

Anam (1992–2002): One of the most successful international Celtic acts of the 90s, signing a multi-album deal with JVC Victor in Tokyo and touring globally. Albums include Tine Gheal (2000), Riptide (1998), First Footing (1997), Saoirse (1995), and Anam (1994).

Past Bands & Music Projects

Over a career spanning 35 years in music, Brian has sung and played, toured and recorded with some of the top artists in the traditional and folk music scene in Scotland and Ireland. They include Anam; Cruinn; Upstairs in a Tent/Brian Finnegan; Christine Primrose; Cliar; Deaf Shepherd; Nuala Kennedy; Gordon Gunn; and Mike Vass.

He has also sung and performed in musical projects such as The Complete Songs of Robert Tannahill; Struileag - Children of the Smoke; The Irish Actors Theatre Company.

As well as singing and playing music, Brian has worked in arts and cultural development and projects including: Manager of Taigh Dhonnchaidh Arts & Culture Centre (Ness, Isle of Lewis), Development Officer at Comann na Gàidhlig; Creative Director of the Blas Festival, Arts & Culture Officer with Bòrd na Gàidhlig and Creative Scotland.
