This four-week online course offers friendly and accessible learning for those who have already started on the basics of the language and wish to continue with online classes.
The course is inclusive, supportive,clearly structured, and will start at Cuspair/Subject 5 of the Speak Gaelic A1 resources. It is perfect for anyone who attended my Introduction to Scottish Gaelic course or those who have already started learning basic Gaelic.
This course moves at a slightly faster pace than other courses and students are encouraged to complete coursework over the four weeks. This will boost your level of engagement with Gaelic and confidence in understanding and using it in everyday life.

Sessions are relaxed, welcoming and learner-centred. Participation is encouraged but never required, and you are always free to engage at a level that feels comfortable for you. The small class size ensures time for questions and individual support.
The course is taught by Brian Ó hEadhra, a Gaelic educator with over 25 years’ experience teaching both online and in person. His work includes teaching for Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Queen’s University Belfast, Highland Council and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

Yes, in a gentle and supportive way. Participation is encouraged but never required, and you may take part at a level that feels comfortable.
No. There is no pressure to perform. Any group singing is done on mute, and spoken participation is always optional.
All sessions are delivered live on Zoom. Joining details will be sent in advance.
The sessions are not recorded, to maintain a relaxed and confidential learning environment.
Numbers are capped at 18 participants to ensure a friendly atmosphere and time for questions.
No specialist materials are required. You will be introduced to free national resources, including Speak Gaelic, along with optional further learning suggestions.
If you miss a class, you will still be able to continue with the course. Notes and guidance on independent practice will be provided where appropriate.
